Ginger Snaps

These are softer than traditional ginger snaps and I LOVE that. I don't like crunchy cookies. These are nice and chewy.1 C sugar
1/2 C shortening
1/4 C butter
1/4 C molasses
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
2 C flour

Cream sugar, shortening and butter. Add egg and molasses. Add remaining ingredients.

Roll into balls, roll balls in sugar.

Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees (until tops crack). Makes 2-3 dozen.
